Digress Blog: Introducing Digress →
Yeah, I know it’s been a while, but since I have like 400 followers for no rational reason, I’m going to take advantage of that and do some shameless promoting. I made a new thing for reading stuff you like. Read the long thing I wrote below, then check it out if you’re so inclined. letsdigress: Today I’m officially unveiling Digress, a new feed reader I’m building. Unlike...

Super-recognizers: people with an amazing ability... →
Theresa has always had an uncanny knack for identifying actors/actresses, sometimes from a movie she hadn’t seen in a decade. I threw this test at her - she didn’t get #1 or 4, because both were before her (and my) time (I thought #4 was James Dean). But, she immediately, and correctly, identified #2 and 3. My sweetie is a super-recognizer!

Red meat linked to risk of earlier death →
Federal study of 500,000+ people found those who ate red meat on a regular basis were 30% more likely to die sooner. Suck it.

Theresa found that someone had posted one of her photos to their Tumblr. It has 10 reblogs so far. That’s more than anything I’ve ever posted has been reblogged. I’m not sure if that’s because she’s a really good photographer, or because I never post anything interesting. Probably both.

March Movie Month #1 - Rescue Dawn
We have so many movies to watch (250+ in our Netflix queue alone) that I’ve decided that we’re going to watch a movie a day for the entire month. Today was the first, Rescue Dawn starring Batman and Daniel Faraday and some other people. It was pretty intense, but the ending - spoiler alert! - was awkwardly saccharine, in my opinion - end spoilers! 4/5 stars.

Happy new year! I'm leaving Tumblr.
*gasps of horror from the balcony* Before I go any further, allow me to note that, no, I don’t have any delusions of self-importance, and yes, I realize that this will most likely be read by 15-ish people, max. Regardless, I’ve been doing this tumblelog thing for a long time now, and I feel I should exit properly. The tree makes a sound, indeed, listeners be damned. Here is why...

Holiday Shopping
Just got back from a crazy day out. My hands are freezing from lugging wood - more on that later - so this will be brief. Theresa and I went to the mall to split up and do some last-minute shopping for each-other. Neither of us had much luck, but on the way out I found a Scientology kiosk that was giving out free stress tests with their E-Meters. I hadn’t ever seen one before, so I had to...

Holiday
I have Monday-Wednesday off next week, and my job gives everyone Thursday and Friday off, so I was planning on taking a nice 9-day vacation. Lucky for me, the massive winter storm coming this afternoon gave me one extra day today, so my 10-day vacation starts now. I have a number of things planned for this break time, most of which you probably won’t hear about here because they’re of...
